Focal Points

Focal Points were developed by the group as a team to help everyone get the most out of their memberships. The following is a list of goals for everyone to work on.

1 on 1s
Do you know how to effectively market for every person in our group? When was the last time you had a 1 on 1 with someone? Make sure you are up to date with your 1 on 1s!
How Many Referrals?
It's easy to find leads for some of the members in our group. For Joel, all you have to do is listen when you call someone. But some members have very few referrals. Check the Referrals Received list, and make sure you're targetting those members. Who do you know who might benefit from their services?
Power Group Networking
When was the last time you met with your power group? Do you even know what power groups you are in? Try to meet with at least one of your power groups once a month to make the most of your marketing efforts.
Be Passionate
You know that if you're not passionate about your own company, it's hard to find good clients. So why not be excited about other BNI members' companies? If you're not passionate about other members' services, you should be so that you can more effectively market for them and help find their target customers.
Who do You Know?
When was the last time you brought a vistor or guest to a meeting? Let's make sure we're reaching our potential by inviting more visitors. Remember... the more people who come to our meetings, the larger your marketing department becomes!
How long is your 60 seconds?
Is your 60 second moment really 60 seconds? Or is it 15 seconds? Let's focus on making the most of our time by using all 60 seconds allowed. Or is your speech closer to 90 seconds? How can you shorten it to let others have their turn?
Be More Specific
When giving your 60 seconds each week, try to be more specific about what you're looking for. Everyone knows Nancy is a financial planner. Are you set for retirement?
Quality vs. Quantity
After your 1 on 1, you should have a pretty good idea of whether or not another member wants a HOT referral or just wants a lead. This year, let's focus on getting better quality referrals for those members that want them.
